why it's the little things
Be thankful for the pardon you have, and in the end, you will have more. If you focus on what you don't have, it will never be enough.
Kind words. Weekend swimming. Frothy coffee. Smile.
Just stopping to appreciate those micro-moments - which express joy - can affect our brains and bodies in the most powerful ways.
Physically, this can lower our blood pressure and help us
live longer. Spiritually, celebrating the present moment can teach us how to
dispel stress and self-doubt.
It is time to embrace happiness with open arms.
Happiness makes us stronger. It helps us live longer and wholeheartedly. Our secret weapon against stress is the inner strength that can help us speechless all the problems life throws at us. Yes ... even Monday mornings.
We all know how important our happiness is, but sometimes it feels like an uphill struggle to achieve it. Occasionally we need a nudge or a reminder of how important it is - and how we can shed more light on our lives:
Cultivating a Happy Mind
Buddhists describe thoughts like drops of water on the brain. When the same idea is repeated repeatedly, a free-flowing stream is created in mind. Regularly practicing gratitude - a state of gratitude - creates new positive currents that reduce anxiety and depression and make you happier.
Gratitude has been shown to change your brain's chemistry literally - appreciating the little things triggers our "good" hormones, releases toxic emotions, reduces pain, and improves sleep.
When life is touching at 100 miles an hour, mindfulness can take a back seat. But meditation is instead you can do in minutes: in the wash, first thing in the morning before you eat. Gratitude can also be practiced throughout the day.
Please read our guide on bringing more meditation practice into your busy life and book a meditation class for an experience that makes you lighter, happier, and able to endure anything.
Cultivating a Happy Body
If there is one item we know about you, you want to advance your bodily fitness without feeling like a chore. If you think so, then you are definitely on our wavelength. Exercise shouldn't feel like a chore. Eating shouldn't feel like a chore. Happiness is your human right.
Taking care of yourself - whether by showing up to a regular fitness class or taking the time to cook a nutritious meal - is the ultimate form of self-care. But with so much pressure to achieve the "perfect body" exerted by the media and diet products, the real purpose of health and fitness can take a back seat and confuse us.
Even in 2020, the biggest trigger for unhappiness in women still looks. Brene Brown contracts with this subject in her book "Daring Greatly":
"After all the deliberate and critical arguments, we are still most ashamed of not being thin, young, and beautiful enough."
